Hi! I’m Jackie Davis. I am originally from Bentonville, Arkansas, a city in the far Northwestern corner of Arkansas that is home to a vibrant cycling community. From an early age, I grew to view cycling as not only recreation, but as a viable option to get from one place to another.
In the Spring of 2024, I used skills learned in my Field Research Methods class to gather data on an unprotected crossing at Central and Buena Vista: just South of UNM’s Main Campus. I presented results to the City Council, which ultimately resulted in plans to construct a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon (PHB) at that intersection.
In May of 2025, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Geography with an emphasis in Geographic Information Science (GIS). During that time, I learned about the wide scope of problems that can be addressed through employing spatial analysis. I also took courses that challenged me to think about equity the systems we create and how the question: “where?” is tightly interlocked with the question: “who?”
In the Fall of 2025, I will be attending the University of New Mexico School of Law as a fulltime student in the Juris Doctorate program. I am looking forward to the opportunity to shape the future of law and policy to leave my community better than I found it.
Outside of work and school, I love spending time outside with my fiancée Kameron and my dog Ella. We’ve traveled to every corner of Albuquerque on bike, including riding the entire 50-mile activity loop in the Fall of 2023! This summer, we are looking forward to exploring more of the beautiful state we call home.
