CE 283 Surveying and Geomatics
This course acquaints Civil and Construction students with the fundamentals of physical measurements and error theory, specifically in the context of transportation systems. Students utilize their mathematical background to tackle problems related to the design and layout of transportation infrastructure. Students gather and analyze field data through small group activities, honing their skills with contemporary measurement instruments. Additionally, the course features invited talks from practitioners.
CE 482-582 Highway and Traffic Engineering
This course aims to explore the science and craft of designing sustainable and context-sensitive streets and highways. Building on CE 382 (Transportation Engineering) concepts, the course covers essential knowledge needed for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. Topics include vertical and horizontal curves, traffic flow relationships, and signal change intervals.
